IPBN Algarve Networking Event & Panel Discussion: Understanding Incentives to Live and Work in the Region

The Ireland Portugal Business Network (IPBN) was very pleased to invite members and guests to an exclusive late afternoon of insight and networking by the Marina in Lagos, Algarve, hosted at the studio of IPBN member Dietmar Goetz (NewsShow TV) on Wednesday, May 28 from 17h30 – 19h. 

As interest in relocating to and investing in the Algarve continues to grow, so does the demand for clarity around the various incentives and residency schemes available in Portugal today. To address this, we opened the evening with a focused and informative panel discussion followed by networking opportunities. 

Panel Topic: An Overview of the Different Incentives & Schemes to Live and Work in the Region. Our expert panel explored and clarified several key programs, including:

• NHR 2.0 (also referred to as IFICI)

• The New Golden Visa

• PRR (Plano de Recuperação e Resiliência – EU Recovery Fund)

• Portugal 2030

• Digital Visas (D6, D7, and D8)

The discussion was moderated by Sharon Farrell, Chair of the IPBN Algarve and included contributions from IPBN members Ana Sofia Gonçalves and Andrea Viegas, who is also the newly appointed Honorary Consul of Ireland in the Algarve since December 2024.

The session was recorded and shared as a podcast on the IPBN Spotify channel, extending access to our network in both Ireland and Portugal.
