If AI Doesn't Recommend You, Who Will?
Flow Productions hosted a live panel discussion exploring why some businesses are being recommended by AI while others are disappearing from the buying journey.
The Ireland Portugal Business network was delighted to partner with IPBN member Flow Productions and invited all its members for a very special event entitled "If AI Doesn't Recommend You, Who Will?" on 22 July at UAlg TEC Campus, bringing together business leaders to discuss one of the biggest shifts in digital marketing: the rise of AI-powered search. The event examined how technologies such as ChatGPT, Gemini and Google AI Overviews are changing the way customers find, compare and choose businesses, and what organisations can do to remain visible in this new search landscape.
As artificial intelligence rapidly changes how people search for information, compare suppliers and make purchasing decisions, businesses face a new challenge: remaining visible in a world where search is no longer limited to Google.
Taking place at UAlg TEC Campus, with both in-person and online attendance available, the event explored how platforms such as ChatGPT, Gemini, Claude, Perplexity and Google AI Overviews are influencing the way customers discover and evaluate businesses.
"Businesses have spent years optimising their websites for search engines. Today, they're also being evaluated by AI systems that decide which companies to reference, recommend and surface in response to users' questions. This represents a fundamental shift in digital discovery, and many organisations aren't aware it's already happening," said the Flow Productions team.
Rather than focusing solely on traditional Search Engine Optimisation (SEO), the discussion introduced attendees to the emerging disciplines of Answer Engine Optimisation (AEO) and Generative Engine Optimisation (GEO), explaining how websites can be structured to improve visibility across both conventional search engines and AI-powered platforms. The session was aimed at:
