This series of conversations are with Leaders in prominent and emerging companies and will discuss the challenges of leading and managing a growing business, key factors in success and lessons learned along the way as well as some thoughts on what the future holds for the industry.
We were very pleased to hold our first conversation between Sean Moriarty, Chief Executive of the Quinta do Lago operating company and Aoife Healy, Chair of the Ireland Portugal Business Network on Friday 18th October at 11.30am at the Magnolia Hotel.
Quinta do Lago operate one of the most exclusive resorts in Europe, combining private property, accommodation and leisure activities in a unique setting. Their success over the last thirty years has been astonishing.
Sean shared his insights into the way the business model is evolving to include substantial additional revenue streams from hospitality and leisure activities, how they are working to change the demographics of those investing in the resort and how he believes that sports, health and wellness and medical facilities will be a key driver to minimising the effects of the seasonality the Algarve and indeed Portugal suffers from in the Tourism sector. There was much food for thought for all present.
