The Ireland Portugal Business Network (IPBN) is delighted to introduce the distinguished speakers of Panel 2 at our upcoming Healthcare & Wellness Conference in partnership with Algarve Care Services on Thursday, July 10 at the Hilton Vilamoura As Cascatas Golf Resort & Spa. Titled “A Conversation About How AI & Technology Can Help Manage Healthcare and Wellness,” this panel will explore the evolving intersection between technology and health through the insights of three professionals at the forefront of innovation in their fields.

Joining us will be Dr. Vânia Roberto, CEO & CIO of ABC CoLAB – Ageing Better. With a PhD in Biomedical Sciences from the University of Algarve, Dr. Roberto specializes in Molecular and Cellular Biology and leads a multidisciplinary ecosystem dedicated to reshaping the future of ageing. ABC CoLAB merges the strengths of academia, industry, and government to create forward-thinking, research-based solutions that promote longevity and improve quality of life. Her expertise will offer invaluable perspective on how data-driven innovation can directly influence human wellness and societal health.

We are also pleased to welcome Dr. Nuno Mourão, an experienced Medical Doctor and Research Physician. Currently serving as an Internal Medicine Assistant and undergoing qualification in Intensive Medicine at the ULS – Faro Unit, Dr. Mourão also teaches at the Faculty of Medicine and Biomedical Sciences at the University of Algarve. As Director of the Emergency Medical Research and Training Laboratory at the Algarve Biomedical Center, and an INEM-certified helicopter emergency doctor, his frontline experience will bring real-world context to the application of emerging technologies in medical training, emergency care, and critical response.

Rounding out the panel is Carlos Justino, IPBN member and AI Adoption & Strategic Growth Advisor at Algarve TEC Hub. With over a decade of experience delivering complex tech and software solutions to global brands, Carlos bridges the gap between cutting-edge AI and real-world business needs. His background in digital strategy, neuromarketing, and his recent role as moderator of the “AI for Startups” panel at the IPBN Dublin Innovation Conference makes him a dynamic and deeply informed voice in this conversation. His practical approach to AI integration will complement the academic and clinical expertise of his fellow panelists, creating a well-rounded and impactful discussion.
