Chris joined the securities industry in Dublin in 1987 as an investment analyst at Ulster Bank Investment Managers. He made swift progress to become Head of Research and later a UK Equity Portfolio Manager running £100m. In 1991, Chris joined Smith New Court Securities (SNC) in London. In 2001, Chris attained the title of Managing Director, Global Markets & Investment Banking and became Merrill’s Country Manager for Ireland, having achieved Irish revenues of $100m.

In 2014, through Tyrone Capital Partners Ltd business, Chris introduced Sofinnova Ventures to Innocoll AG where the former invested $15m in the latter's Nasdaq IPO.
