According to the Managing Director of the company, Patricia Casaburi, "Global Citizen Solutions originally started investing in Portugal ourselves and helping some friends replicate what we did here. With my legal background, I was able to help them with a 360-degree type of journey through property, visas, and more. For the first two years the office was based out of London, and in 2019, things got busy in Portugal. We fully enjoyed it even as we were locked down in our apartments in 2020 in Lisbon."

Patricia told the IPBN, "Our business has two main motivations: a bit of lifestyle design and also a 'Plan B' strategy. The business thrives on geopolitical events and things like elections, mass shootings, pandemics, and others that make people stop and reconsider their life choices. This often prompts people to redesign their lifestyle to expedite their long-term goals like slowing down, better access to healthcare, or otherwise."

And the company's clients come from all over. British interest peaked as a result of Brexit, and the pandemic made many Irish citizens begin investigating the advantages of living in the Algarve and the Douro in Portugal among other desirable Portuguese regions.

Working with different residency programs seems like a big ask, but the company manages to perform a full X-ray of each client's situation. This includes existing portfolio diversification strategies, university connections, safety, tax optimization, entrepreneurship, and more. Patricia said, "Then we are able to devise a plan that is tailor-made for each family or individual as the case may be, whether on a personal or professional level. We listen, gather, and come up with a plan that makes sense."

In terms of property, their sister company Goldcrest works as a buyer's agent clients for move-in ready homes and holiday homes while Global Citizen Solutions works alongside the company in terms of securing planning permissions, providing project management, and more, even fully integrated decorating services.

But it doesn't stop there. The company can even handle calls to Galp, EDP, and SEF on behalf of their clients as an added service. It's clear that their mission to make people's lives easier is exactly what they are delivering!
