IPBN Partners with the 2025 ART&TUR International Tourism Film Festival

The Ireland Portugal Business Network (IPBN) is pleased to announce its official partnership with the 2025 edition of the ART&TUR International Tourism Film Festival, the largest tourism film festival in the world. This year’s edition will take place in the municipality of Fundão, Portugal, from September 9 to 12, bringing together leading creatives, tourism professionals, and cultural institutions from across the globe.

As part of this new collaboration, the winning films from the 2025 festival will be showcased at the IPBN’s Annual Tourism Conference in Lisbon this autumn, offering members and attendees an exclusive first look at some of the most innovative and compelling audiovisual content in global tourism today.

The ART&TUR Festival has long served as a benchmark for excellence in tourism storytelling. It recognizes and rewards films that promote destinations, cultures, and experiences through high-quality audiovisual production. This year, all promotional tourism films produced after January 1, 2024 are eligible to compete. Selected winners will not only gain industry recognition but may also be included in TAP Air Portugal’s in-flight entertainment system—a significant platform that reaches over 4.5 million long-haul passengers annually, connecting Europe to the Americas and Africa.

The partnership between Centro de Portugal Film Commission and TAP reinforces the importance of film in promoting Portugal’s tourism and cultural identity. According to TAP entertainment manager Célia Cardoso, showcasing ART&TUR award-winning films on board long-haul flights adds value to the airline’s content offering while powerfully reinforcing Portugal’s global brand. The success of this initiative speaks to the quality of tourism films being produced in Portugal and the strategic value of audiovisual storytelling as a tool for national promotion.

The ART&TUR Festival also reflects the continued growth of tourism-related media. Over the past 17 years, it has evolved into a key event for creators and producers working in diverse categories such as cultural heritage, sustainable tourism, innovation, climate change, adventure, gastronomy, and more. This year’s call for submissions remains open until June 30, with entry information available at tourfilm-festival.com.

The IPBN is proud to partner with a festival that shares its commitment to cross-cultural exchange, creative innovation, and meaningful economic collaboration between Ireland and Portugal. This initiative adds yet another dimension to the IPBN’s work of connecting ideas, industries, and regions, and we look forward to featuring the ART&TUR winners at our conference in Lisbon this autumn.
