Established in 1981, the company provide for Dublin (and Ireland’s) vibrant music scene, from young to old, beginner to professional. Visitors to the store over the years are a who’s who of both classic and contemporary rock & pop; Blondie, U2, Manic Street Preachers, Stereophonics, Feeder, Hozier, Kodaline, Westlife to name just a few. Their retail store, located on Exchequer Street, Dublin and spanning over 3 floors of retail, specializes in the sale of musical instruments.

In 2016 Musicmaker brought home the coveted award for 'Ireland’s Best Specialist Shop' chosen by the Irish Times. Musicmaker Distribution; supplying over 90 accounts across Ireland and Northern Ireland, represents some of the industry’s most iconic brands such as Blackstar Amplification, Orange Amplification, Vater Percussion, and Kyser.

The company founded the sell-out professional drum tuition camp “21 Drums’ in 2016 and represents US label Ground Up as their logistics partner in Europe. John Paul is General Manager of Musicmaker, but also Co-Founder/Strategy Director of Irish Food Tech Startup; Farmony. Specialising in Microclimate control and associated workflow/monitoring software Farmony are supporting the roll out of a network of an interconnected network of controlled environment, vertical farms across Europe.

Highlighted as one of Ireland’s top 20 Agtech innovators, Farmony continue to “grow” from strength to strength. Produce grown with their tech has already won at European Food Awards, while their first commercial customer “Emerald Greens” recently signed an exclusive supply deal with Compass Group.

John Paul now works between Porto & Dublin. Already a proud Dragau with a season ticket for FC Porto, he is primarily Portugal based.
