But first, a note from the Chair of the IPBN Geoffrey Graham. "After the Portuguese Prime Minister announced the end of the current NHR program last week, we have been listening to a number of concerns which have been raised by, for example, international individuals and companies. Also, IPBN partner Sofia Almeida, Tourism & Hospitality Area Coordinator of the European University in Lisbon is inviting IPBN members on Wednesday, November 15 at 2 pm for a presentation of the University's new degree program in tourism in English. This will include a short visit to the Campus, the presentation of the University goals and pedagogical model, and the strategic goals and objectives of the tourism degree program. IPBN member Escala25 is looking to extend its capacity to host bouldering clientele at their center during the rainy months. IPBN member AGREEN Full Cycle Building Management posted, "The Council of the European Union and the European Parliament reached a political agreement on Thursday for the phasing out by 2050 of fluorinated gases and other substances harmful to the ozone layer and contributing to global warming. The measures of this pact enter into force in 2024. These gases are 'used in refrigerators, air conditioners, heat pumps or fire protection equipment.'"
