With our close partnership with the UAlg and the Algarve TEC Campus and our members in the region, the IPBN keeps addressing and presenting the Algarve as a business destination where more and more digital nomads have been moving to, accelerated by the pandemic, and where more and more residents are working remote
Tuesday March 21 from 0930 to 1100 at the Tribulum restaurant in Almancil, we learnt how IPBN members and panelists are transforming and developing business in the region through remote work and staying connected. Solange Van Dijk, HR Manager for IPBN member Otonomee, an Irish Digital Outsource Partner to scaling businesses, was on a panel discussion with Des Wynne, CEO of IPBN member company Lazer, Algarve’s fastest Fibre Internet network, to talk about “Connectivity and Working remotely.”
At Otonomee, employees work exclusively remotely and the company has been actively recruiting in Portugal. Meanwhile, Lazer's mission for over 30 years has been to ensure residents and businesses of the Algarve are always connected to what is important to them. Their Internet plans with speeds up to 1 Gbps allow you to enjoy super-fast Internet speeds — essential if you are working remotely.
Brian Shanahan with his background at IPBN member company Informita, where he acts as company Director, moderated the panel and addressed how these companies are managing working patterns, technology's contributions to the current local economy, broadband's effect on working conditions, and sustainability.
The event was open to members and non-members and was free of charge.
